Digital Hygiene

All day every day we’re either sitting, swiping, typing or clicking… 

Let’s be honest it’s so entrenched in our lives that it’s easy to forget we even do it. 

I’m not saying there is a problem with doing it as some of us make our living by doing so but it’s great to take inventory on it at times to not let it get out of hand. Just like you would check in with your diet or finances I will call this your digital hygiene…  

This is the tactic I’ve recently implemented which has helped keep my device time down…  

Every time I reach for my phone to use Instagram, Facebook or some other app which is created to keep me lured in I ask Siri to set a timer for 5-10 minutes and I once the timer goes off I have to put the phone away. 

Sure I am still using the device but it has cut the 20-30 or even 60 minute rabbit holes you can go down significantly shorter by having a system in place to limit it. 

I challenge you to try it and see how much it cuts down your daily device time!
