Always Choose The Hard Thing... (CrossFit Open Edition)
It’s that time of year again. The CrossFit Open beings this week and while there have been changes to the sport of CrossFit the reason we like to do the Open remains the same…
You see to us it isn’t about being the best or on top of the leaderboard. Yeah it’s cool for bragging rights among mates but it’s more than that!
It’s a chance for our clients (and us) to test the work we have been putting in all year.
We spend a lot of time building our fitness and strength throughout the year and this is the time of year we draw a line in the sand and test ourselves. Just like others would train for a triathlon, marathon or the city to surf we use the CrossFit Open as our benchmark fitness test.
Sure these other tests of fitness are known and you can train specifically for them and ours is not. I feel this adds to the novelty and challenge and ensures year round we train a broad range of things, consistently!
Too often these days we seek comfort and safety. We want to be good at everything and it’s rare for people to put themselves outside their comfort zone…
If you’re someone who hasn’t done something like this before and it makes you nervous then it’s time you signed up and gave it a try.
Do the hard thing because when you meet the version of yourself who has achieved this at the end you will be glad you did!
