You can do this! (And you're probably much better at it than you thought)
Stepping outside of your comfort zone is seen as the cool thing to do these days…
Yet if you are honest with yourself you probably wouldn’t actually step outside of it too often. We have this fear that we’re not good enough or that we wouldn’t be able to do it… But how do you truly know what you’re capable of if you never try?
Owning a CrossFit gym has made this apparent to me over the years. People will look at a video, a single post on social media or a friend who has tried something resembling “CrossFit training” and immediately put it in the too hard basket based on this impression…
Decades of research has shown us that we’re terrible at predicting the future, especially if it’s about ourselves. We underestimate our capabilities, our resilience and picture the results to be much worse than they actually end up being.
So if you’re all about stepping outside of your comfort zone and giving things a try in the words of Sheryl Sandberg “I promise you will never know what you’re capable of unless you try”
