How To Build The Best Friendships!
One of the first things new clients experience with us in their first class is the ritual we have…
For those who’ve had this pleasure know from day one it has always been to go around the room and shake hands, fist bump, high five or give someone a hug.
It’s what’s helped us grow in my opinion the best community and friendships I’ve ever seen in a gym and countless clients would vouch for that!
It wasn’t until recently while reading Simon Sinek's book “Leaders Eat Last” I realised why this works and why if you have a business which runs classes or where groups do things together then you should make use of this ritual too! Hell even try it in your workplace for a while and see what happens!
In his book Simon talks about the release of Oxytocin from human contact. Whether it be a child wanting affection from their mother, you’re sealing a deal with a handshake or athletes on a team fist bumping and high fiving to keep up moral!
The reason I feel it works in the gym environment is one because it forces introductions from the start and two it reinforces the commitment each person has to showing up and putting in their best effort that day!
While it might seem silly and awkward to being with I guarantee the relationships built on the back end of this will be worth it!
