Building Mental Toughness...
When people ask me the best way to build mental toughness or to learn how to push through hard workouts I feel I disappoint them because I don’t have the 1 tip or secret answer for them…
You see we humans are geared to follow the path of least resistance and if you know and are aware of this you can train yourself out of it!
It’s the little choices we make daily that build our mental toughness…
The decision to go for the run even though it's raining and cold outside. The decision to walk up the 5 flights of stairs instead of taking the lift or escalator. The decision to put the extra weight on the bar because your program calls for it today.
It’s these small choices we make every day which make us mentally stronger. By saying yes to the harder thing no matter how small it may seem…
Now I’m not going to win a toughest person in the room competition anytime soon but what I do know is that by taking the road less travelled each day no matter how big or small it might seem it will build my mental toughness.
Then when a big challenge comes my way I know I will be ready!
