What Gets Measured Gets Managed

Part of the speal when a new client begins with us is me talking about how we’re a performance gym. I am quick to tell them we don’t promise any aesthetic goals but will 100% back our program to improve their performance…

The important piece to this is that they actually track their performance!

We use a system called Wodify which allows clients to input their scores, times and weights used for each workout. It even goes as far as plotting these results on graphs and giving them gold stars when they set new Personal Records (PR’s).

So why am I bringing this up you ask? Because I often hear clients get down on themselves for not “feeling” like they’ve made progress around a certain movement or workout. This same person will generally say they haven’t been putting their data in Wodify for whatever reason and they can’t actually remember how much weight they lifted last time so they aren’t actually sure about it at all…

If you find yourself in this position I urge you to take the time to enter your results into some sort of journal, Wodify database or even just the notes on your phone. You would be surprised how often you don’t feel like you’re getting any better but you actually objectively are!

We’re emotional beings and are always our own harshest critics so if we can log these things in something which is objective and keep track it will tell us the truth.

What gets measured gets managed and we’re big advocates on measuring your performance!
