Failure Can Be Useful... Pay Attention
There will come a point in your training when you lose. This is an important time because you learn what needs your attention.
Rather than react emotionally, take a step back and take a birds eye view of what just happened.
Everything you do has a standard attached to it and it is easy to see when you deviate.
It’s when this standard is challenged your real training begins.
Your overhead press might be text book with an empty bar. What happens when you load weight on the bar? Does it still look the same? What happens when you try the same overhead press with kettlebells or dumbbells?
At some point a different variation or movement will come up and you will experience this. This deviation from the standard is what provides you with the best information…
Information which will help fix your weak link. Using this information you can make adjustments and progress as needed. Until…
You lose again and the process starts over.
There will always be something which needs addressing and this is all part of training.
Always be on the look out for this type of information because it’s out there and you won’t make progress without it!
