Switching Off Autopilot
If you’re a client of ours chances are you already have a good understanding of the concepts of a good strength and conditioning program.
In particular the concept of progressive overload. This speaks to the fact we need to continually expose ourselves to increasingly more difficult demands if we want to get fitter, faster or stronger...
Otherwise said, doing the same thing every time will not make you better.
While it is nice to use the same barbell and plates every day or grab out the trusty set of rings when it’s time for pull ups this is not going to keep you progressing long term.
At some point this needs to change.
So next time you find yourself going for the same piece of equipment on autopilot stop and have a chat with your coach because it could be time to step up!
