Ok here goes…

We aren’t on this planet for a very long time. We all get to experience 80 or so summers and winters. Maybe more if you’re lucky enough and look after yourself along the way…

My point is not to be negative about this but to remind you that we all get a limited number of years here so we may as well make them positive?

Too often the first thing I hear out of someone else’s (and at times my own) mouth is a negative statement…

The focal point for most is firstly and firmly placed on the negative over the positive or upside.

Next time you have a conversation with friends and family listen out for it.

Start talking about a topic which is is fun and exciting and can be looked at from either angle…  

Training is a good one… Start the the conversation and see where it leads, look out for positivity or negativity and the immediate reaction people have…

If you find you tend to look at the negative my challenge for you is:

Next time your immediate reaction is to look for the negative during conversations stop for a second and think instead of the positive side to it. It will take time to catch yourself but as your self awareness improves you will get better at catching yourself out…  

For example if the workout today has squats and you hate squats but want to get stronger.

The positive here is I will do squats today not because I like them but because it is going to make me stronger and I want to be stronger…

Just like a muscle this reaction can be trained over time…
