It’s easy to get caught up trying to mimic someone else who we believe to be successful.

I see this play out in the gym environment all the time...   

Clients will often look at the weights others are putting on the bar or watch them perform certain movements only to then try and fail themselves. (Counter to the coaches suggestion of not doing it I might add)

What you need to remember is we are all unique and will learn, grow, develop and adapt at different rates. The gym is no different…

While it can be helpful to follow someone else’s path at times, I would argue that in the long run it will slow down your progress and limit your ability to develop in your own unique way.

It’s important to know yourself and your unique traits and then to trust and enjoy the process that is growth and development…
