Are You Becoming A Better Coach?
“I have been coaching for X number of years”
This is probably one of the most common things said to me by coaches, gym owners OR someone trying to impress me while asking for a job or work experience with us…
The amount of time you have spent coaching doesn’t really impress me.
You see coaching for a long period of time doesn’t automatically make you a good coach.
I know people who have been driving a car for a long time but still aren’t the best drivers and I definitely know coaches who have been coaching for a long time who in my opinion are not good coaches.
Don’t get me wrong...
In no way am I implying I and our coaches are the best in the world. I am just lucky enough to have realised at a young age there is always more to learn and the moment you think you know everything you’re finished!
So rather than going about our business and just putting in the hours coaching each week, we get together as a group once a fortnight and challenge each other.
Challenge each others knowledge, movement and coaching so that we are constantly seeking improvement!
If you share this attitude and want to learn to coach, get better at coaching or know someone who should get involved watch the video below to see how we are developing our coaching.
