Accelerate Strength

Move it or lose it

You have probably heard the saying “Move it or lose it…” I believe this saying in the health and fitness context rings true!

Just because you have had an injury or setback before doesn’t mean you should never train that body part again. I believe the opposite to be true!

Opportunity comes in many forms and this to me is one of them!

Your body has just shown you where your weakest point is and it is now your responsibility to put in more time and effort to strengthen this area of weakness…

If you’re a normal human chances are you have had a sore something in your life. A knee, a toe a shoulder…

We’re human and these things happen.

If your body saw it as too hard or not worth healing the injured area and just dropped off a limb every time they got sore we would all be walking around a little differently…

We know this isn’t true!

All too often I have conversations with people and hear the same reasons/excuses come up. The conversation generally starts like this…

“Dude I would totally be there to train with you but my back. It’s weak and I don’t think training it is good for me…”

I would argue the opposite to be true. If your back is weak it should become your focus point! Obviously a smart and measured approach should be taken but you need your back to become stronger so it can withstand more than what hurt it in the first place.

If you don’t then I hope you’re prepared for the vicious cycle and harsh reality of hurting it again because you did nothing about it and then hurting it again and again and again…

What we do need to remember though is that we only get one body in this lifetime so the more durable, evolved and strong you can make it the longer it will serve you for your 80 - 100 year stint on this planet of ours…

Move it or lose it!
