CrossFit's Impact On The Fitness Industry

In recent years we’ve seen huge changes in the fitness industry. Led by in my opinion CrossFit as a training methodology. Fast paced workouts, quick results and an addiction no other training program had formed before. Don’t believe me just go and start a conversation with a CrossFitter about their training…

CrossFit initially only drew in those who were type A personalities who had the courage to try it. This in large part was due to intensity and competition being at the forefront of most messages shown publicly. The CrossFit Games was growing in popularity and those competing were idolised.

This left a huge void in the market for companies like F45 and Orangetheory to dive into. Claiming all the benefits of the High Intensity training CrossFit offered, a lower risk of injury and marketed in a much friendlier way which appealed to the masses.

Now a few years further down the road I think we’re seeing a change in this space again. Where those who were initially afraid to jump into CrossFit and instead tried other programs have started getting bored of the “safe” program which has delivered all the results it ever will.

These people are now seeking out something a little harder because they have built their confidence, they are now more physically capable and need something more challenging to continue their progress.

It’s an exciting time to be a gym owner and even with the constant spawning of new fitness brands and franchises I think the value has and always will lie in quality coaching, fun and challenging workouts, learning new skills all while surrounded by good people.

I think this will last longer than any fitness trend, brand or franchise…

Am I right???

I guess we will have to wait and see!
